LOVE RUNNING

Love Running is a group of over 550 people who have signed up to run the Bristol 10k in May. The group is made up of people, predominantly from Woodlands and Christchurch churches in Bristol, with a wide range of abilities, experience and ages all running to raise money.

The Physio Place and Up and Running (North View, Westbury Park BS6) are pleased to be supporting Love Running and are offering all runners the opportunity to book in for running analysis (taking 20 minutes and costing £5). This analysis looks at your running style and will provide an assessment of your lower limb biomechanics including assessment of muscle lengths and strengths together with any advice and exercises that may be helpful to you. This is a great opportunity to nip in the bud any aches and pains and get the most out of your training. Up and Running will then also be able to advise you and provide you with the most appropriate trainers for you.

Love Running runners can also expect discounts on physiotherapy and sports massage to address any aches and pains and also personal training including pilates to make sure you're as fit as you can be for the day.

So whether you're a seasoned runner or you've never run before (and are wondering what on earth you've signed up for!) make sure that you don't miss out on these fantastic offers.

BRISTOL HALF FAST APPROACHING - TIME FOR A SPORTS MASSAGE?

Not long to go now until the Bristol Half. Excellent!

Are you ready?

I hope by now you've managed to get a few long runs done without too many problems? How's your time - are you on target?
How are your muscles coping with the additional mileage - any new aches and pains?

Key things to consider:
Are you doing enough stretching? (see my earlier blog on stretching)
Are you eating and drinking enough of the right kind of food and fluid for long distance runnning?

Finally, have you ever considered having a sports massage? A friend of mine the other day was telling me how important it is to be kind to ourselves!! From my own experience with training I can't say that this thought comes into my head very often, being kind to myself really doesn't get the results I'm looking for.....however, a sports massage does tick that box and is also a great way of getting a bit more flexibility into our muscles.

Why not book one and see?
